My next purchase has happened

I have acquired an e-bike. I had been meaning to for some time but finally pulled the trigger.

It is definitely a joy to ride, though it seems the bike's range may be marginally less than advertised unless one really husbands the battery power, which was a bit of a surprise. It will get me where I need to go, for sure, and with a good deal less effort than an acoustic bike, but there's still a measure of range anxiety to the thing and I will have to develop discipline around charging it.

But why am I so quick with the caveats. I'm happy to have it. I hadn't bought myself a treat of any sort since I got this couch up here in my study and the matching window shades. Between the two of them they gave me a significant lifestyle upgrade back during the pandemic and they continue to bear fruit. As it were.

Also, if I ride the thing, I should be able to keep cutting my carbon footprint, which is still very important despite the momentarily toxic political atmosphere around all things Green.
