Why LG sucks. Why Best Buy sucks.

We bought a shiny stainless steel LG Dishwasher in November or so, and were mighty proud of how clean and modern at least part of our kitchen looked. Then it broke. Standing water in the bottom. That was about 3 weeks ago. That's when the warranty kicked in, and we called so-called Best Buy, where we had gotten the thing.

I won't bore you with all the details, my hands haven't the strength to type it, nuffbeit to say that they mis-diagnosed the problem, had ridiculous internal communications issues, and the problem dragged on and on without anyone being accountable. I'm sure you're shocked. So a part that was supposed to have arrived Monday finally got here yesterday, and they sent a guy over. So today this guy Winston shows up, and he pulls the dishwasher out onto our hardwood floor with no protection and he's flipping it all around on the wood floor, fixing it, and we -- mindful of how the guys from Lowe's scratched the floor when they put the stove in and how the local free-lance Mexicans scratched the stairs when they brought the treadmill up the stairs (our bad from the jump) -- got kind of jumpy. And we're like "you need help with that, you're going to scratch the floor" and he's like "Look, this is my job, I do this all day, and if the floor gets scratched Best Buy has insurance." Which is absurd. We don' t want to be dealing with Best Buy's frickin insurance, we just don't want our floor scratched. So we get a little worked up and Winston calls his supervisor Brian and, very calmly, says: "I'll be back Tuesday with another guy, this is a two-person job." Winston was pretty impressive, must say, poised, calm, well-trained.

But Best Buy sucks, make no bones about it. Shitty LG product, poor service generally, bad attitude.

You should know better than getting your dishwasher from best buy. It's like ordering sushi at a chinese restaurant - you just don't do it even though it seems logical. Always buy from a store that sells only appliances and has their own service dept. But I think you know this...

Never buy LG of anything , full stop !

like the old saying goes - " all show n' no go " .. still fools many suckers

One of the biggest repaired & serviced brands on the face of the earth.
But on a positive note, LG's played a vital role in society, It's kept alot of general service centres operating during the hard times when it once would have shut it's doors forever, thank god LG are so inferior.. unemployment may have risen even higher during this world wide recession.

I bought an LG Dishwasher and this piece of S... just does not work.

LG's customer service has been trying to figure out why this does not work, why my dishes are very dirty after comming out.

My fridge is rusting thru from what I feel was improper preping of the steel before paintingh. I found out there is no one in my service area to look at this. 2 1/2 years ago when I purchased the refrigerator we also purchased a microwave and dishwasher. One week ago we bought lg washer and dryer steam top of the line. The only majoe appliance not lg is our range. Since speaking to Lewis and his manager Carla who basicly said they will do nothing about this since it is out of warranty. I feel that no appliance should rust at 2 1/2 years with no damage causing this. You'll be hearing from me more as I advertise your product. My friends, family and anyone that wants to listen on the net will be a more informed shopper.

LG sucks. Reported a problem after buying LCD tv while it was under warranty. 10 months later it still isn't fixed and they refuse to do anything about. They do not stand by their warranty. LG sucks! Don't ever buy LG anything.

I bought a washer and dryer, delivered on Jan 15. Hooked them up and the dryer wouldn't work, it is now Feb 24 and still no dryer and have spent many hours on the phone with them trying to get a new one. I will never buy another LG product again.

I recently had a hard water issue, the agent at the customer service line was very helpful, he suggested me to use glass magic and voila! problem solved, by now i have not had any issue with my dishwasher, i love it!

I bought 2 LG HD LCD TVs a 42" and a 26" for the bedroom. Both broke within a month. Cust. service was poor.
I also had two LG cell phones. One didn't even work for 3 days. Oh the other the battery fried just after the warranty was up.
An appliance repair guy told me not to buy any LG appliance as their parts are hard to come by and very slow to get when he can.

We bought our LG gas range/oven in April of 09. The sleeves for the knobs are made of plastic so they crack after a couple weeks of use leaving the knob free spinning, not doing much good. We called LG three times, each time we were put on hold for about ten minutes while the 'customer service' rep made a fake call to 'engineering' and promised to send us knobs from another model. Each shipment contained the same defective knobs. We are using a pair of pliers to operate our stove. Did I say, "LG SUCKS!" BTW, they suggested it was our fault if we operated the oven with the door open.

We bought a gas stove/range, microwave, and dishwasher last year, the crappy, plastic knobs on the stove broke wihtin a few weeks. While you're cooking on the stove you can't touch the handle on the micro because it shorts out. The dishwasher is a piece of shit!!!You would think that a $2000 appliance would work longer than 11 months. The repairman came out 4 times with a different solution to the problem each time. He finally ordered a new motor for the THING which worked fine for 3 months. We still have the same problems, bought the extended warranty through Home Depot at time of purchase, LG says the original warranty has expired that we must go through Home Depot. Home Depot says that it's still LG's warranty. When we spoke to a few supervisors at LG they claim that there is nothing they can do because they don't have a record of a repairman coming to the house. NEVER BUY ANYTHING MADE BY LG ---THEY SUCK BALLS!!!

I am having a problem where LG will not even honor the parts warranty because parts are no longer being made. Instead of replacing the dishwasher, as its warranty states, they want to give me a credit that won't cover half of their current cost and won't cover installation. Best Buy was unable or unwilling (I will never really know which) to help. But I guess I should have known that GOLDSTAR could change its name, but not the way it conducts business.

I beg to differ; all of the LG products at least I've bought were great. LG is still far better than many other brands out there such as GE, Whirlpool and Maytag; maybe Samsung or Sony could be on par with LG in terms of quality.

YES, LG SUCKS.
I wonder how they look upon themselves those low-lifes.

I have tried for weeks, nearly three months on and off to make contact with their 'customer service' department AND also their 'support' department.
The LIVE CHAT is never available; the phone is never answered and the E-mail form is always sent back as unavailable.
It is quite clear LG is saying "I have your money - tuff luck suckers!

Don't be lured by the outward styling of LG stainless steel refrigerators or dishwashers. They are the worst appliances I've ever owned. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes and the refrigerator (not the freezer) freezes our produce.
LG SUCKS. Never buy anything made by LG unless you like to throw away money.

My wife and I bought a Goldstar microwave (Model No. GMV154OTB) and after 3 years it began malfunctioning and became a safety hazard.

I have filmed the microwave working without touching a button causing a mug of water to boil over.

I was so angered by the experience and potential danger that I have created a web site www.LGisJUNK.com to spread awareness of this problem.

I bought a LG LED/LCD TV in November. 48hrs later I received the TV from FedEx. Straight out of the box it will not turn on. I call LG customer service (worst in history)who tells me that they need to contact a repair place and will get back to me within 24hrs. 36hrs go by and I call customer service who then gives me the number to the repair shop. After speaking to them they pick it up from my house. 2 weeks go by until they call me and say it was fixed. It was working fine for 10 days! Then it again would not power on. I again call customer service who refers me to the same repair shop who again picks up my TV. 7 days later the GM of the service place calls me and tells me that the mother board is bad and is on backorder for 6-8 weeks. I call customer service who states there is nothing they can do until a certain amount of time passes which they are unable to disclose to me. After speaking to multiple customer service representitives and several supervisors, I am told that a new TV will be ordered and will receive a conformation call in 24hrs. 2 days go by and again I call and speak with a supervisor who tells me that he cancelled my new TV because the part is no longer on back order and I must wait 4-6 more weeks until it arrives. A few more weeks go by and after demanding to speak with some one who will actually help, a resolution dept supervisor calls me and has an answer. She wants to send me a new TV but in order to do so I must give them a credit card to charge and will be reimbursed once they recieve my old TV. NO no no no no, I want a refund and after I mail the TV out, 10 business days later they will refund my money. This is all under warranty and should not have cost me a dime. I apologize for the rant but I hate LG!!!! Do not ever buy an LG product!

I bought LG LED monitorand it stopped working in no more than 3 weeks. It was sent to LG for service since 2 months ago and I still haven't received it! LG said it was delay of parts. One CS person replied me and said it will be sent to the manager for decision. Then no more feedback. This is totally redonkulous! LG sucks.

After only a year and two months after purchase, our LG dishwasher is obviously having a drain pump issue, and thankfully we purchased the service plan at Home Depot. This washer SUCKS. It's become noisy, the panel freaks out and sometimes you cannot choose certain wash cycles, and now this drain pump issue. It's a HUGE piece of shit. Follow my advice, since I know people with more expensive washers - get something like a BOSCH or, if you really have the cash, a MIELE. If you purchase an LG, you WILL regret it.

Oh, and we also have an LG refrigerator, which also SUCKS. Although no real problems yet, it cools unevenly, and even when the unit is set at 36, some zones read 42-44 degrees (I have a digital chef's thermometer), which is in the danger zone for food (40/140 rule).

I too bought a fancy French Door LG Refrigerator. Couldn't get ice out to save your life. Ice constantly jams. The water dispenser has turned itself on in the middle of the night twice now and flooded the kitchen. Don't buy anything from LG or Samsung. 1 year old Samsung refrigerator ice maker quit the other day. These two Korean companies are in a race to screw the world.

LG , My dream then my nightmare! Should have known that a company previously named Gold Star was not up to par. I was so blinded by the salespersons glowing review of the LG front loader and dryer that we bought the pair and pedestals to the tune of about $2500. Then the washer required numerous repairs. Not to mention that it shook the house so hard that we thought it was an earthquake. Fortunately we had the lemon guarantee by Best Buy. Unfortunately they no longer carried the platinum color or the washer model . So either I lived with a mismatched pair or I bought a new dryer and pedestals. I chose the latter still believing that LG was the best. Another mistake! The dryer never dried the clothes as well as the first dryer. So much for energy efficiency. But dumb me I still believed and went out and bought a LG dishwasher too! It failed in the first year and continues to have problems. (I will speak on customer service later!) It has ruined my wood floors twice.
Back to my current washer / dryer. Now five years old and the washer stopped working. Just stopped filling. Called numerous repair companies and out of 5 only one would even come look at it. Why? "Can't get parts" was the common theme. Hmmm. finally did get someone to come out after 10 days of waiting on parts only to discover that what we thought was a simple fix at $100 to find out that the mother board was fubar and the pump was probably on it's last legs as well. Current cost to repair: $650 and that does not include the new pump. You do the math! Not gonna fix this POC.
We repaired the dishwasher ourselves. Contacted LG about getting the parts and complained about it ruining our floor for the second time. They didn't want to address the repair to the DW but for reasons unknown agreed to look into our ruined floor! What?? They did not do that the first time. But here is the catch. After weeks and weeks of LG requesting different verifications: Pictures of broken part, then requesting we send them the broken drain hose at our cost, they also wanted three cost estimates to repair the section of the floor. Then they wanted pictures of the floor. No reputable floor company will attempt to match and repair a 30 sq ft section of floor that is part of a 1100 sq ft wood floor. The last time we paid to have the floor completely redone on our nickel. Finally after being put through the wringer by LG I gave up and told them that they finally wore me down.
I want to say that in the early years of owning these appliances I TALKED to a real person in customer service about the issues and they did bend over backwards even to the point of fixing the DW even after it was out of warranty.(2 months). At that time the repairman did the re install of the DW in "European fashion" i.e. unattached to our granite counter tops. we believe this constant movement caused the leakage issue of the hose and also that the hose was a design/ engineering flaw. ( The new hose had a vent tube that the one we had did not and was connected differently.
So what to do, what to do? Went to an major box store and guess what ? They recommended the LG ! ACK! Ran as fast as we could away from this place.
Finally ended up at Lowe's of all places and found a guy named Troy who has worked in appliances there for many years. He dealt with us honestly ! LG has not really had any major design changes since it got into the front loader business. Also talked with several repairmen for recommendations. Top recommends: Whirlpool, Samsung and Miele.
I won't reveal which one I chose, but I will give you advice !
If you are thinking about LG think about this. In less than 8 years I have spent over $7000 dollars for poorly designed, poorly supported LG products. Run, run as fast as you can away from LG and anyone who tells you they are the best. Those people are being paid to tell you that!
